Work permit is a type of document issued by the Vietnam government permitting the foreign employee to legally work in Vietnam. From February 15, 2021, Decree 152/2020/ND-CP officially went into effect, has changed many regulations related to the working of foreigners in Vietnam. In the scope of this article, it will show the cases when the employees are not subject to the work permit issuance and compared to the current regulations.
According to Article 154 of Labor code 2019 and Article 7 of Decree 152/2020/NĐ-CP, the foreign employee will be exempt from work permit if in one of the following cases:
